*5 minutes-pray for this ministry *10 minutes-gather some canned goods to donate from your own pantry *20 minutes-cut UPC labels from Best Choice products or bundle your newspapers and magazines for recycling * 1 hour-help clean the Food Pantry or stock shelves *2 hours-assist in collection and distribution of food items

We plowed up approximately 1/4 of an acre of the front lawn and turned it into a vegetable garden. Many people worked many hours to make this project a reality, and we were able to give away or sell literally hundreds of pounds of produce this year! We applied for and received a grant from the American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) and American Baptist Foundation (ABF). Specifically, we received an $11,200 grant from the Palmer Foundation (one of ABF's partners). The theme and focus for their 2012 grants was, "Discipleship and Incarnational Practice." ABHMS was "...looking to walk alongside of grant applicants who share the single-mindedness of Jesus' first followers and who desire to be the presence of God in places where divine grace is not yet fully evidenced." They found our plan for expanding the garden in 2012 was worthy of a grant. So far, we have purchased three garden storage sheds for placement at different points around the property to facilitate expansion of the garden.
