Our church has been very mission focused for many years. We feel God has called each of us to some mission here on earth.Our church has a mission focus each month. These may be a local community outreach such as assisting at The Hope Center in Kansas City, our own Caring Ministry, Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, American Baptist missions, Prison ministry, etc. Every 2 years, a group of adults travel to Haiti to assist at a mission orphanage. We also actively participate in four American Baptist Missions: World Mission Offering, One Great Hour of Sharing, America for Christ, and Retired Ministers, Missionaries Offering. We also support various local American Baptist missions, such as the Bethel Neighborhood Center in KC, KS.
HAITI MISSION In Haiti, the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, the Cabaret Children's Home in Bercy includes an orphanage, a church, a school, and a mountain ministry. We have taken groups of 10-15 to help build the church, do repairs, tile floors and showers, hold mommy/baby classes, and show God's love to the children. It is hot, difficult work and travel, but the Lord's work is so awesome. The mission struggles against the Haitian voodoo worship but has become a vital part of the small village 45 minutes from Port au Prince. AMERICAN BAPTIST MISSIONS The American Baptist have four missions that we support.
