Why should I give online? *Primarily, it is an option for those preferring electronic transactions over writing checks. *It allows you to give consistently, even when you are unable to attend a worship service.
Why give to First Baptist Church of Stilwell? Scripture teaches that believers are blessed to be a blessing AND those who give generously to help others soon learn the truth of Christ's words as found in Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure - pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." While giving to help advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ should never be done with the hope of reaping additional blessings, those who give humbly and generously expecting nothing in return are always blessed in return.
Giving is an act of worship in which we thank God for our blessings, acknowledge that everything we have is a gift from God, and an opportunity to pass some of our blessings on to others. The Bible teaches us to give a tithe or the first ten percent of what we earn to God and God's work. For some, the giving of the tenth is a goal you are growing toward each year. For others, it is the starting point, and you will give far in excess of ten percent.
How do I give online? Click the "Donate" button. You will be taken to the PayPal secure website. Follow the prompts to set up your contribution. We use PayPal to ensure the security of your transaction. FBCS does not see, nor retain, your card information. We only see your name, address, and amount contributed so that we may provide you with a year-end statement for tax purposes.
How do I get a record of my contribution? You will be given the opportunity to print a receipt of your transaction while on the PayPal site. You will receive a receipt via email to the email address you provide for the transaction. FBCS will send you a letter confirming receipt of your donation(s), for tax reporting purposes, in January of each year.
Can I make my contribution to a special fund? Yes, you may designate the "Purpose" for your donation when entering the donation amount. The default is for donations to go to the General Fund.
Is there a fee for this online service? There is no fee to the donor. FBCS is charged a small fee for transaction processing.
